I am James Mitofsky, a software developer and student of international affairs.
I'm particularly interested in how to promote connection and cooperation, as much among people as countries, and I believe the promotion of this goal will require new ways of thinking about the world order.
My time working with the University of Bonn, volunteering with the French Red Cross, and doing research at Tufts' Institute for Democracy and Higher Education (IDHE) have greatly shaped how I think about the intersection of policy, ethics, and technology. I am constantly learning from others who are likewise motivated to improve the world through policy.
I grew up in rural northern Vermont, and I'm grateful for the years I spent living in Normandy, France. I've also lived in Bonn, Germany, just south of Cologne. I currently live in Washington, D.C.
I speak French, have notions of German, and am interested in learning Mandarin.
